Cannot Stay on the Summit Forever: From the revised Introduction: The first time I participated as a client in The Opening The Heart workshop I was in such distress that I have no memory whatsoever of the talks and stories from that weekend. I was too much of a mess to even hear The Opening Talk and I was travelling at such breakneck speed through so many emotional spaces during the weekend that I did not have free energy to give to the talks. I may as well have been deaf. By my second or third experience of the workshop I started to hear - I mean REALLY HEAR - the talks and stories and about the fourth time I staffed the workshop the aha! to put this collection together came to me... I heard all the wit and wisdom of the workshop and - to put it the way the experience came- " it decided me to put this collection together". Words can introduce you to or carry the memory and bring back the charge of an experience but they are no substitute for the experience itself. No one gets filled up from reading a menu. These talks and stories are meant to point you in the direction of the experience of which the words speak. They are meant to nudge you in the direction of the workshop or for recidivists to help you, as the final words of the workshops say - "at least still remember".
